What is Worship?

In today’s episode we explore what the root meaning of the word ‘worship’ is in Hebrew.  Fascinating!

Our key verse today is:

Exodus 3:12 (NASB) And He said, “Certainly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God at this mountain.”

Prioritizing God

Listen to today’s micro-podcast on Prioritizing God.

The key verses for today come from Colossians 3:

Colossians 3: 1 (NET) Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth, 3 for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ (who is your life) appears, then you too will be revealed in glory with him. 5 So put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion, evil desire, and greed which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience. 7 You also lived your lives in this way at one time, when you used to live among them. 8 But now, put off all such things as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with its practices 10 and have been clothed with the new man that is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of the one who created it.

Flee From Idolatry

Listen to today’s micro-podcast: Flee From Idolatry.

The focus verses for this episode are from 1 Corinthians 10:

1 Corinthians 10:6 (NASB) Now these things happened as examples for us, so that we would not crave evil things as they also craved. 7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and stood up to play.” 8 Nor let us act immorally, as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in one day. 9 Nor let us try the Lord, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the serpents. 10 Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer. 11 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. 12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.  14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

The Little Sins

Welcome to Season 2 of Noble Bereans!  While it means we’ve started a new year of podcasts, it also means we are past the initial episodes that were describing what it meant to be a Noble Berean.

Today’s micro-podcast episode is on The Little Sins.

The key scripture for the day comes from 1 Corinthians 10:13:

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NET) No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it.
